Overview
Roxborough Police Youth Club Night Football Tournament is a sporting initiative developed by the club in 1996 to provide creative use of leisure for persons in the communities if Tobago.
This premier sporting tournament acts as a proactive crime prevention strategy using sports as a machinery in providing creative use of leisure time instead of falling prey to social ills in society.
The tournament which is held annual at the Roxborough Police Youth Club football grounds, was made possible with the intervention of the British High Commission who illuminated the grounds and the Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary Orville London who maintains the electricity bills and prizes towards the tournament. Roxborough Police Youth Club Night Football tournament has attracted male seven a side football teams from thirty two communities throughout Tobago. The tournament includes a March Pass, League and Knockout Competition. Since the inception of the tournament the competition commences in June/ July each year and climaxes in mid October. The THA Division of Education, Youth and Sports provides platinum sponsorship to the tournament.
